The second Belgrade edition of the TMRW conference is announced, scheduled for May 12 – 14 2023. “I want to thank everyone who supported us at our Dubai debut; our amazing speakers, partners, media and audience. Our goal has always been to connect our visitors with the greatest global minds, to inspire the move forward and to bring the future closer. We are working hard to bring the highest quality programming alongside the incredible productions while providing the networking opportunities to everyone involved. Dr. Marwan Alzarouni, Strategic Advisor at Digital Dubai, welcomed the audience on the first day and emphasized Dubai’s role in being the hub of tech while Khalifa Al Jaziri Alshehhi, advisor of the Ministry of Economy, demonstrated the first Ministry having presence in the Metaverse.

They were followed by Michael Gebert, Chairman of the European Blockchain Association who was speaking about the future of blockchain and Christian Gleich, CEO of one Big Wave who talked about the future of Metaverse. Panel of the day gathered the Web3 Lady leaders Loretta Joseph, Ritu Marya, Aleksa Mil, Jenny Zheng and Anita Kalergis “KryptoGranny” to discuss the potential in Web3.

The day one ended with the exclusive launch of the VVerse project. Christopher Quet, CEO and co-founder of Vverse Technologies, said: “We wanted to bring real world use inside the Metaverse. We believe that Metaverse should be a land of opportunities bringing on abundance rather than scarcity. You can onboard and edit your own dimension with our builder and through our library of more than 100,000 assets. You can create events, concerts, you name it, you can do it.

Day two continued to bring great topics and speakers. Loretta Joseph, Director at AP Capital, spoke about the different regulatory frameworks for digital and virtual assets: “I don’t think there’s ever been a more important time to be talking about regulation. Regulation is coming. We all need to work with the policy makers to ensure that we have sensible regulation, and to harness the opportunities of technology and innovation“, she said.

Dr. Mark Van RijmenamThe Digital Speaker, talked about generative AI and the convergence with the Metaverse. “We have this technology, which is super powerful to create text, voice, audio, virtual worlds, assets, anything on the fly just with your voice. That will create Metaverse and bring it faster than through coding.”

Anndy Lian, Best Selling Book Author – NFT: From Zero to Hero talked about Web4 as a new way to decentralize. “The Metaverse ecosystem and Web3 needs to be more decentralized. Web4 would be a totally different era, with machines and with full automation. If we want to really create a more sustainable, decentralized environment, we’ve got to make the change. And again, a Web4 could be the possible angle.”

Dusan Zica, CEO & CTO of the NFT Comic Book 2142, brought the philosophical approach to building the world in his keynote From NFT Comic Book to video game: “The idea is to make comic books and video games presenting our view that technology should be in line with spirituality and humanity, and it should be observed strictly as a tool and not the driving force. Humanity’s humanity should be the driving force. Otherwise the technology can get instrumentalized instead of becoming decentralized,” he concluded.

Last day of the conference brought great global masterminds to the stageSharad Agarwal, Chief Metaverse Officer at cyber-gear.io, presented the topic Business and Metaverse: “I talked about how the Internet changed over the years. Metaverse as a technology is something new, and over the next 5 to 7 years, we will see its mass adoption. Metaverse will be used in different industries. Brands should start dabbling with the Metaverse, and get customers to experience it,” he added.

Jonscott Turco, Founder & CEO at COre3.io, spoke about reinventing business, exploring opportunities and challenges of the Metaverse and future technology. “In the heart of every successful business is the belief that something greater exists than simply the bottom line. It’s a belief in the power of people and connection and today, more than ever, the power of technology to bring us closer together and amplify community and collective intelligence towards purposeful outcomes.”

Davinci Jeremie, talked about the differences of using NFTs for just artwork and for utility purposes. “In return, you get access to someone or access to a concert; that’s an example of utility. I believe that it can also be useful in the community sense, where you bring a community of people together, sharing a common goal,” he explained.

Stephanie Bretonniere, CEO, POWR3 & WE IMPACT.WORLD explained how important it is to connect people. “Sustainability has to bring impact that will elaborate those technologies to convert every single individual into a changemaker.”

NFT Dry Spells? Maybe Not for “Zero to Hero” NFT

NFT Dry Spells? Maybe Not for “Zero to Hero” NFT

Crazy headlines saying that the total sales volumes of NFTs have plunged more than 90 percent. The next thing I remember, I had to launch my book “NFT: From Zero to Hero by Anndy Lian” in August.

When the idea was mooted, one common question is: Why launch it now? It’s the bear market. In all truth, I did not have the time to finish the book during the bull run, and since I did not have the time to test out the tools that are on the market, it is hard for me to choose what to recommend. Therefore the bear market is the best timing for me. I had time to complete the book, test out more tools that were recommended by my community and make plans for the book.

I did not really care what the book sales were going to be like in the very beginning. I only want to share knowledge with the community at large. When my team members told me that I should also worry about sales. I had a great idea of collaborating with projects and maybe a few meme coins to make things fun. There were many interests when I spoke to them, some wants a special cover, and others want to launch a collection together. 99 percent of them did not follow through. The typical- all talk, no action. This did not stop me.

Of course, some of them came around eventually. These are the wonderful people who made my book cover, song album cover, music production, NFTs, and all. I will be always grateful to those who have helped.

The book went on even better with the help of Bybit NFT Marketplace. After much shopping around and offers from various exchanges, I have chosen Bybit. They are willing to help and run the extra mile. I ended up being the first launch on their new program called GrabPic. Zero to Hero is also the first NFT book that launched on any exchange NFT marketplaces. Looking through the listings, I am also possibly the first who listed using a real profile picture.

The launch went well too. All the NFTs were sold out. All 8,000 of them were bought in the first minute. Pricing seems to be just right- $2.99 for a book with benefits. I did not want to sell the books at a very high price. As a book author, I would like to have more people reading the book, share my knowledge and have fun.

The fun part can come in many ways.

It can be having fun creating and minting your own NFTs.

  • In the book, I have shared various sites, platforms, and tools that you can create your own NFTs. If you are a designer, this will be a piece of cake.

It can be spotting the next big thing in the market.

  • This is a fun process, especially if you like statistics. There are rating portals that allow you to kind of predict which NFT has a bigger potential. If you have a good sense of what’s happening in the market and with a good analytical mind, the figures shared on some of these portals can guide you to your first successful NFT collection.

Or using Bybit’s merge function to get you more gifts and benefits.

  • If you have bought my book NFT and when my music NFT is launched, both of them can be merged to get you something else that is rarer and with more useful benefits. The methodology is simple and easy to understand. It is fun too.

The book talks about all you need to know. There are interesting trends that you should really look out for, tools, and useful platforms that you need to check out. At the end of the book, I shared some insights into the future of NFTs.

You can find out more about the book at Bybit NFT marketplace for now. The book will be available in major online bookstores in the coming months. I will be sharing more about the book and its activities on Hackernoon. Thanks again for all the support.

Anndy Lian on NewsX: India’s Official Digital Currency. Time To Make A Shift?

Anndy Lian on NewsX: India’s Official Digital Currency. Time To Make A Shift?

The development of Bitcoin and thousands of other cryptocurrencies these past few years have left India needing to create a framework for the creation of an official digital currency, which will be issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). A bill in this regard is planned to be tabled in the upcoming winter session of the parliament.

The Indian government is worried about the volatility of cryptocurrency, how it can be misused, and cryptocurrencies’ impact on the country and its economic situation. The primary idea of the RBI behind this move is to protect consumers from the appalling level of volatility seen in digital currency. The governor of RBI went to the extent of saying that cryptocurrencies pose a serious concern to the macroeconomic and financial stability of India.

It has been reported that a huge amount of ₹$40,000 (rupees) have already been spent when it comes to cryptocurrency. Furthermore, the idea of cryptocurrency was, when it was formulated in 2008, to bypass the banking system. This brought rise to RBI’s worry that cryptocurrency will overtake the banking system when it comes to investments in India.

Back when cryptocurrencies were banned in China, the fallout was that a lot of people and a lot of that investment and interest were redirected to the USA. India does not want to make that same mistake. It is almost certain that there will be a lot of problems if there is a blanket ban on cryptocurrency in India.

India is all set to create a framework for the creation of an official digital currency that will be issued by RBI. NewsX invited a panel of experts to talk about the topic. The expert panel consists of Akash Jindal, Sr Economist; Siddhartha Sogani, CEO of Creabaco Global Inc., Bitcoin Expert; Hanif Shaikh, CEO of Upsocial Network, Crypto Expert and Anndy Lian, Chairman, BigONE Exchange and Founding Member of Influxo. News Anchor, Vineet Malhotra discussed the following topics:

• How will this impact the total economic atmosphere of the country?
• Are cryptocurrencies such a threat to the economic environment of any country?
• What is the next step for India?
• How important is the concept of decentralisation when it comes to cryptocurrency?

Here’s what BigONE Chairman Anndy Lian had to say in an interview with India’s NewsX:

The right direction is to embrace cryptocurrency in all manners – because cryptocurrency is here to stay. It is the future of currency. In whatever way that it is called – currency or digital asset – it must be embraced.

Mainstream media may always say that cryptocurrencies are illegal as it may involve money laundering, among other things. But the fact is that the top currency used to carry out such illegal things is the very common US dollar.

Every move made via a blockchain is recorded on the chain. If Bitcoin is sent to a dodgy account, it’s going to be recorded on the chain. How will these dodgy accounts cash it out? Will they be so daring to do that?

BigONE is on the Top 40 list globally. All good exchanges must go through the same regulatory steps to ensure Know-Your-Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes are carried out. Through these frameworks, illegal acts are minimised.

Decentralisation does not, in any way, mean the removal of governments of taxes. It must be emphasised that when it comes to decentralisation, there is no intention of moving away from countries’ legacy systems or financial systems. Nonetheless, people are living in the real world, and not in the metaverse. Actual, physical money is still required to live as we head into the future.

The term “decentralisation” must not be tweaked in such a way that it is portrayed to be a bad thing. There exists proper entities – proper companies – to back the system. In the cryptocurrency world, everything needs to be registered. When founders of a project are doxxed, documentation to prove that will be kept in a centralised depository. If anything were to happen, tracing back to the person or team in charge will not be an issue.

It is imperative to redefine the term “decentralised” such that governments, family offices, and traditional banking staff know what it means exactly. In comparison to the traditional space, what is experienced in the cryptocurrency world is actually no different. For exchanges such as BigONE, different kinds of available financial requirements are stringently addressed. In this way, proper regulation is assured. Let’s be open-minded and address it.

The Indian government and crypto practitioners are open-minded and progressive about cryptocurrency. As the bill gets drafted, it is good that they would have all the experts to provide their confounding, broad, and elaborate views on what the cryptocurrency market pertains to, as well as the volatility and risks.

This is the second time Anndy Lian is invited to the NewsX Live commentary segment. The first time was with Garrett Minks, Founder & CTO, Rair and Vishal Malhotra, Actor on NFT.
