코인텔레그래프가 복수 전문가를 인용해 “테더의 제3자 감사 부재로 업계에서 잠재적으로 유동성 위기가 나타날 수 있다는 우려가 제기되고 있다”고 전했다. 유럽 암호화폐 투자펀드 사이버캐피털 공동 설립자 저스틴 본스(Justin Bons)는 “테더는 암호화폐 업계 전체에 가장 큰 위협이며, 투자자들은 아무런 증거 없이 테더가 1,180억 달러(USDT 시가총액)의 담보를 보유하고 있다고 믿어야 한다”고 말했다. IDA파이낸스 공동 설립자 션 리(Sean Lee)도 “테더가 붕괴한다면 FTX와 달리 파트너 은행과의 구조적 문제에서 비롯될 가능성이 높다. 서클의 USDC도 실리콘밸리뱅크(SVB)와 시그니처 뱅크에 높은 의존도를 가지고 있었고, 이들이 붕괴하자 USDC 점유율도 하락했다”고 전했다. 또 암호화폐 전문가 앤디 리안(Anndy Lian)은 “테더가 붕괴할 것으로 생각하지는 않지만, 중앙 집중식 기관은 암호화폐 분야에 위험을 초래할 수 있다”고 말했다.
